The Indian Reformer : Jyotiba Phule


Today is the 124th Death Anniversary of One of the India's Most known Social Reformer of the British Rule in India. Mahatma Phule was one of those well-known reformers like Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar and Dayanand Saraswati, who changed and motivated Indians on the Path of Enlightenment.
Achievements - He was a prominent activist, thinker and social reformer from the Indian state of Maharashtra during the 19th century. During his time, he tried bringing in positive renovations in the spheres of education, agriculture, caste system, social position of women and all.

Ganesh Mavalankar : 116th Birth Anniversary

Ganesh Vasudev Mavalankar (27 November 1888 – 27 February 1956) popularly known as Dadasaheb was an independence activist, the President (from 1946 to 1947) of the Central Legislative Assembly, then Speaker of the Constituent Assembly of India, and later the first Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the lower house of the Parliament of India. His son Purushottam Mavalankar was later elected to the Lok Sabha twice from Gujarat.

Jharkhand Sthapna Diwas



As we know, Jharkhand state was formed on 15 November 2000 after almost half a century of people's movements to evolve a Jharkhandi identity, which disadvantaged societal groups articulated to augment political resources and influence the policy process in their favour. It is the 28th state of India. The Jharkhandi identity and the demand for autonomy was not premised solely on the uniqueness of its tribal cultural heritage but was essentially a fallout of the failure of development policy to intervene in socio-economic conditions of the adivasis and non-adivasis in the region.
