What makes a great education system?









We live and work in a country that is absolutely failing it’s students. We regularly see teachers ignore, scream at, and harshly punish their students. As you’d expect, the result is a loss of student interest in learning and school. Yet the test scores are internationally recognized as ‘very good.’ Of course test scores aren’t most important in education, but in a modern world that values these numbers, how do we make a great education system? What makes an education system good, and furthermore, what makes it bad?

Learn Vocabulary, Revealed


Vocabulary learning and growth is essential for good language acquisition. It is one of the core competencies which enhances grammatical and comprehension skills and builds other skills in higher grades. In one of the researches it was observed that out of 4469 minutes of reading instructions, only nineteen minutes were devoted to vocabulary instructions by teachers. Pikulsi & Templeton (2009) classify vocabularies in four different types and explain how being rich in one type of vocabulary does not automatically amount to being rich in another type.
